SaalePUTZ (cleaning of the river Saale)

The SaalePUTZ is a joint action of Bürgerstiftung Jena and its project, the Freiwilligenagentur Jena, several local associations and the city of Jena.

Every spring we call on volunteers - and usually more than 500 people come together - to clean the Saale of rubbish along various stretches of the river. You can register here on the website and the community foundation provides the materials (buckets, gloves, etc.) and, in cooperation with the KSJ, takes care of the removal of the rubbish.

The next Saaleputz is set to happen on the 21st of March, 2026. We hope to see you there!

You want to join us spontaneously? Just turn up at 10 am with gloves, waterproof shoes and a collection bucket at one of the meeting points on the map or collect in your neighbourhood and use the containers (click on the map to enlarge).

Note: Tickets are limited. Please make sure that you actually need a ticket for public transport. Remember that holders of "Deutschlandticket" can use public transport free of charge, anyway :) Tickets will be handed out by the person responsible for your section.

Note: Participation in the SaalePUTZ from a canoe is only suitable for strong, adult, canoe-experienced people who can swim well (ideally lifeguards).

Participants with a canoe must take part in a short briefing the day before!

Please note that we are unfortunately unable to provide childcare and that you are responsible for supervising the children you bring with you and for ensuring their safe attendance at all times.

Data protection

The data you provide will be imported and stored in our local database exclusively for the event management of this year's SaalePUTZ and for later information about the event. Your data will not be passed on to third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1b of the Basic Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO). You have the option of objecting to the use of your data for these purposes at any time by sending an email with your objection to info@buergerstiftung-jena.de. In this case, we will delete your data immediately.

Photographs will be taken during the event. As a participant, I agree to make these photos available free of charge for the public relations work of the Bürgerstiftung Jena (e.g. on leaflets, posters, donation letters, homepage, local and national media, social networks, etc.). I can object to this publication at any time.

The data protection declaration of the community foundation applies.
